You Are Seated with Christ in Heavenly Places 

The Bible tells me to keep my mind on things above, and to think about Heaven with the glory of Jesus. I used to think this was difficult, because the World offers so many pretty things. I have learned these earthly things are waste in comparison to the riches of God in Heaven! I am excited to go to God’s Kingdom, there I can laugh and rejoice and experience the awesome things that are in Him. I am not afraid to leave Earth, now I understand who I have been made in Christ. I have learned I won’t be missing out when I go to Heaven, but all the fullness of God awaits me there!

However, I need to always remember — while I finish my time here on earth, I am already seated with Him in heaven. I'm walking around in my earthly body now — but my eternal life is secure — and because of who I am in Jesus, I am seated with Him in the heavenly places right now. That's why this time on earth seems so silly and trivial sometimes ... this is all starting to make sense!

LISTEN

I am proud to welcome you into Heaven someday, but I am also proud to see you finish your purpose on earth ... never forget that you are already seated with me in heavenly places. I promise you everlasting joy and freedom. Not only this, but I have prepared a special place for you after you finish what I have planned for you to do on earth. You can never lose your place in my Kingdom. I want you to sit at my throne, and spend eternity in my joyous presence. I want you to look forward to these days with genuine anticipation. I want your minds to be so filled with the hope of eternity that it spills out of you. When it spills out, I ask that you tell others of this glorious Kingdom. Will you speak about my glory and me? This place is beautifully infinite, and I am waiting for all my children to return to me.

Colossians 3:2-4 ESV: “Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.”

Romans 8:16-17 ESV: “The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.”

Romans 8: 37-39 ESV: “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Ephesians 2:6 ESV: “And raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”
