Day 18

Beloved

Dearly Loved. That is the definition for the name that God calls me. He calls me dearly loved because that is who I am to Him. More than anything else, this is who I am. I have life because of this, I have unity with God’s children because of this, and I have purpose in everyday because of this. I have a choice to make each day; will I choose to love or will I choose not to love. I have been chosen in love, by love, and for love. The greatest act of love was given in my name. I am beloved.

LISTEN

You deserve this name because it is exactly what I have decided to call you. I gave breath to the most magnificent creatures, I painted the most remarkable sunset, and I held together the mightiest mountain range. Yet, each of these pale in comparison to the beauty I invested in you. I see you as my most prized possession, and your presence gives me great joy. Spend time with me, my love. I hold your face in my hands and I look into your eyes with love. I see the image of my Son in you. Jesus is the greatest measure of my love, and He was given so that I could have you. Meditate on the magnitude of how dear you are to me. You are dearly loved; you are the object of my affection.

READ

Psalm 60:5 ESV: “That your beloved ones may be delivered, give salvation by your right hand and answer us!”

Colossians 1:13 ESV: “He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son.”

1 Corinthians 4:14 ESV: “I do not write these things to make you ashamed, but to admonish you as my beloved children.”

REFLECT

Reflect on your name, beloved.

What do you love more than anything in the world?

Can you imagine that God loves you deeper?

How can you remind yourself of your name?

Who are you in Jesus? Beloved
